Ruel Concepcion, Learning and Development Consultant
Ruel is a graduate
of Philippine Merchant Marine Academy with a degree of Bachelor of
Science in Marine Transportation. He took his master of science
degree in the World Maritime University (WMU) located in Malmo
Sweden and specialized in Maritime Affairs with the core studies in
Maritime Education and Training.
Upon graduation in
WMU in 2006, he returned to PMMA and serve as the Director of
Research and Development, a position he held for 3 years until June
2010. His wide range of experience in the academe includes being
the lead facilitator in the conduct of various training for
simulator trainers' courses and also actively participating as a
resource speaker in various program spearheaded by the Department
of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) for Maritime Manpower
Safety.
2009 proved to be a
very busy year for Ruel, as he became a member of the technical
working group of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) for the
formulation of policy regarding the conduct of licensure
examination for Harbor Pilot, Major and Minor Patron including
Diesel Engine Mechanics.
Ruel also served as
the editor in chief of the PMMA research newsletter "The Academy
Frontier." He is also a member of Sasakawa Fellowship which is
under the auspices of The Nippon Foundation and Ocean Policy
Research Foundation of Japan. He is currently serving as the
Interim President of the Sasakawa Fellowship Philippine
Chapter.
He is now part of
Green Jakobsen Philippines, Inc. as a Learning and Development
Consultant.
