Situation
All new employees in the offshore industries are required to understand the basic safety principles prior to getting onboard. Gathering people for several days is costly and difficult, and the theory is complex and takes time to learn.

Solution
The solution was development of a Blended Learning concept. An e-learning course was developed by Green-Jakobsen A/S and was followed by a workshop enabling the opportunity to discuss safety and to get a "hands on" practical element in the course.

Result
The application of E-leaning allowed new employees to study the theory at their own pace before the actual training, and the obstacle of the diversity in nationality and language skilled was in that way managed. The result of the learning concept was therefore improved training.
