Situation

The client requested an e-course which would ensure that all Maersk ship safety officers develop a shared and thorough understanding of what it means to be a safety officer. The corner stone of the e-course was to ensure that the course participants develop a clear idea of their roles and responsibilities.

Solution

The solutions was to develop a course which on the basis of the safety management systems and procedures as well as the legislative background provides an understanding of the role and responsibility of the Safety officer, the safety organisation on board and how to stimulate behaviour based safety.

Result

The result was an e-learning course comprising Management of Change, the "Take 5" concept, Vessel Safety Action Plans, Safety Observation Cards, Accident Investigation and the use of Black Box Investigation Tool and I-Forms.
