Situation
The Amazon River pilotage from Barra Norte to Fazendenha pilot
station is not compulsory however pilotage is often ordered by
ships Masters due to the fact that the available sailing directions
is not considered adequate.
Solution
The solution was the development of interactive sailing directions
with agent's information and Master's reports presented as
pictures, 3D animations, video clips and voice over's.
Result
As a direct consequence of having a more dynamic and detailed media
for presenting company experiences and sailing directions, costs
for pilot dues and bunker consumption due to deviation required for
picking up pilot was saved.
