Risk Management Integration in Maritime Academies under study

On behalf of Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC)
and A.P. Møller Maersk, Green-Jakobsen was designated as the
project manager who will investigate the feasibility of developing
a training concept that covers cross disciplinary risk management
integration in 4 maritime academies.
The overriding
project idea is to improve the risk management capabilities of the
students and to make it as an integrated part of all their training
activities. This project involves assessment, evaluation and
description of the degree and appropriate ways on how risk
management can be integrated in the daily training at the maritime
schools.
In addition, a
sub-component of the project is to describe and design innovative
training solutions that may include the use and combination of
various multimedia solutions.
The following
maritime schools have agreed to participate in the project:
- Academy of Maritime Education & Training,
Chennai, India
- Shanghai Maritime University, China
- Philippine Merchant Marine Academy,
Philippines
