Three maritime academies in the Philippines and India will be among
the recipients of a Safety Training concept that is currently being
developed by Green-Jakobsen for the shipping company TORM A/S.
The main purpose of
the training concept is to upgrade the Safety Management training
among seafarer cadets in the maritime schools. The project
includes the preparation of an e-learning Safety Management
simulation tool, as well as Train-the Trainer courses including the
production of learning materials.
The concept is
divided into a Basic and Advanced section.
The Basic section covers basic Health and Safety
principles whereas the Advanced section focuses on Safety
Behaviour. The first Train the Trainer course is set to take place
in May of 2009.
