Green-Jakobsen has been assigned by Maersk Line to design and
produce a course concept aimed at the office staff and management.
The goal is to give the office staff a clear understanding of
how, when and why they have an impact on seafarers' safety
perception. The general level of safety knowledge influences the
communication and not least cooperation between office and ship.
Through this course the objective is to encourage office staff to
engage in a constructive dialogue about securing optimal
safety.
'Real stories' and interviews of injured colleagues are part of
the learning concept and will be delivered through a documentary
video showing the typical everyday situations where small neglects,
in an unfortunate chain of events, suddenly cause the accident.
In order to develop the safety competencies of the staff the
training process will have a case consisting of a series of
situations where the user will have to decide among a number of
answers providing a dilemma which will challenge the user to think
beyond the obvious and assess more implications.
The delivery will include a Manager Package to help management
roll out the full concept. The entire package consists of
presentations and videos, e-learning, follow-up and tests, thus
securing embedment and integration in the daily operations.
