Two courses for OW Tankers Uruguay

As the first courses ever of their kind to be held in Uruguay, Green-Jakobsen has delivered on board courses in Bridge Team Management and Accident & Incident Investigation. Out of curiosity local Maritime Authorities (Comando De La Flota, División Servicios) were sitting in on part of the courses. The courses were planned with special focus on the specific trade area and vessel type.

The BTM was conducted with the purpose of improving team skills with particular attention to Bridge work. The course had its emphasize on in depth knowledge of typical personal behavior of the participants and their teammates, the team roles, the bridge organization, culture, communication, decision making, situational awareness, error chain, challenge & response and stress management.

The A & I Investigation engaged in topics as international law & requirements, historic events influencing the maritime legislation, investigation process, root cause analysis and developing recommendations. Special consideration and effort was paid to exercises in order for the participants to obtain practical knowledge to support the theory. Among the topics trained were e.g. interview techniques and event storyboarding.
