The value we provide
Management by Objectives (MBO) is a process of
agreeing upon objectives within an organisation so that management
and employees agree to the objectives and understand what they
are.
In this proces the SMART criteria are used:
Objectives must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable,
Relevant, and Time-Specific)
Objectives drive performance, motivation and
levels of satisfaction. We refer to objectives on so many different
occasions that it's important to begin any work on objectives by
defining exactly what we mean by the term to ensure that everyone
has a common understanding. It is also essential to think about
what are the reasons why objectives exist and what can go wrong
with the objective-setting process.
What we do
The process of setting up objectives may be
divided in three phases: analysis, design/development, roll-out. It
is important to distinguish between objectives and aims, goals
and/or targets. Green-Jakobsen can guide you through this process
and provide helpful tools and input.
Objectives need quantifying and monitoring.
Reliable management information systems are needed to establish
relevant objectives and monitor their "reach ratio" in an objective
way. Green-Jakobsen can help you set up the appropriate systems and
focus on the strengths and weaknesses identified underway.
"What gets measured gets done"
The way we do it
An objective setting workshop will
help:
- Improve utilization of Management
By Objectives and through this
the value of the different apraisal
processes
- Increase consistency in the defined
objectives
- Develop a shared understanding of
best practise in setting and managing
objectives
- Determine why, what and how to develop
the safety culture
- Identify specific activities where the
generated ideas can be embedded
in behaviour and actions - the principles
behind
- Gather employee input for the preparation
of the company's/ department's/ group's
Action Plan for the year to come.
