Green-Jakobsen has worked with shipping companies on lots of procedures. Writing a new procedure will therefore constitute a strong change in the company. As a performance development company Green-Jakobsen knows how often the maritime segment sets up new change requirements towards shipping companies.

Proper change management is therefore e ssential and the companies that are best at managing change will become the most competitive.

Course objective

Management of change procedures and processes are two very different activities. A changed procedure will neve convert into true changes without a well arranged change process. However, despite the fact that changed procedures do not necessarily convert into true changes, the "change" efforts of many shipping companies stop when a new procedure has been prepared.

The overall objective of this leadership module is to ensure that the participants understand what creates true changes and not just superficial values without any organisational anchorage. During this course the following subjects shall be addressed:

    the overall business objectives
  • Change management principles
  • Familiarisation and training process
  • Ongoing feedback and evaluation of new
    performance
  • Leader roles and responsibilities
    (On shore, On board)
  • Ensuring change verification and reviewing
    results
  • Leading teams towards change

 

 


The course process and deliverables

The use of company specific change requirements is a strong starting point for any learning process. Real life requirements that need to be implemented on the participants own turf will prepare them better to the work they have to handle in the futre. To support the participants manage this process they will be equipped with a number of change management tools and principles such as:

- Change management processes and principles
- Change management communication strategies
- Problem solving tools
- Identification of training needs
