Safety Culture Survey

The value we provide:

Researches have shown that organisations with good safety culture tend to have fewer accidents and less illness among its employees. To become wiser on the safety culture in your company and how mature your safety culture is a Safety Culture Survey makes a good starting point.  As the first step it offers an opportunity to analyze the safety culture and performance of the company. This will help you develop your company safety culture development strategy and business performance and the aim is to increase Occupational Health and Safety awareness and maintain and develop a strong OHS culture.

It is our focus to improve safety critical work processes through the develop-ment of individual and organisational competencies.

Target group:

The survey is a tool for the HSE management who are currently dealing with safety policy and strategy to analyse the safety maturity level of the company/department. The survey participants can be both seafarers and office staff of the shipping company because:

In an organisation with a good safety culture, everybody ...:

  • is aware of the importance of safety
    and accepts the responsibility;
  • makes safety top priority and an integral part
    in operational activities;
  • continually strives to improve safety and
  • understands how to assess, manage
    or eliminate hazards

What we do:

On the basis of the knowledge generated via surveys many initiatives can be taken to the benefit of both the seafarers and your company as a whole. In other words, the survey is seen as an extremely important tool to support our ability to prioritize your safety initiatives in accordance with the perceptions of the seafarers and their attitudes towards safety. Consequently, it will help discover in what fields added value can be obtained - both with respect to economy and people.

The way we do it:

The survey questionnaire is a tool to assess and map the safety culture within the company and is designed to give a full picture of the company culture at all levels.

A survey run by Green-Jakobsen ensures that it remains 100% anonymous. On the basis of the participants' replies Green-Jakobsen elaborates the detailed reports for the further analysis and recommendations for the company. The survey is thus the instrument for further action plan and culture development activities for which we can offer our expertise.
