Competence Management
When we prepare a Competence Management programme it involves a range of processes:
- The first thing to do is to define and describe the required competences and the evaluation points with relevance to the overall strategies.
- The second process is to describe the evaluation and monitoring processes according to the required competences and goals set for the crew/staff. For this purpose evaluation templates and reporting formats will be developed.
- Thirdly we will prepare training for assessors and make sure that their effort is calibrated to ensure equal and formal assessment of all staff.
- Finally it is important to integrate the competence development process in the corporate training, management, communication, etc.
Throughout the programme the 70-20-10 effect is the basis for the way we prepare courses, on-the-job-training and look at competence development opportunities. Also we propose how to integrate the competence evaluation output in the recruitment and promotion processes.
