Erik Green, Managing Director and Partner
Erik is one of the founders of Green-Jakobsen and has thus been a partner in the company since 2001. Erik graduated as Naval Architect in 1990 and has a master’s degree in organisational learning and development. Within the maritime segment Erik’s expertise mostly relates to the development of corporate and individual safety culture (competencies), marine HR and leadership development.
As a strategic business consultant with more than 20 years of experience Erik is specialised in helping companies develop both at a strategic, tactical and operational level. His professional competence covers marine HR and safety projects involving both employees and employers and he is an experienced project manager, subject matter expert, strategic executive coach and as a strategic business consultant. Bjarke Jakobsen, Partner and Senior Consultant
Bjarke is one of the founders of Green-Jakobsen and has consequently been a partner in the company since 2001. Bjarke has a certificate of competency as Master Mariner and apart from his experience on board he has worked shore based as Operator, Nautical Superintendent, and Crewing Manager. Bjarke is a facilitator/instructor, a trained mediator and a NLP Master Practitioner. He is authorized by the Danish Maritime Authority as Safety & Health Instructor and certified user of the Thomas PPA system.
Bjarke is the Managing Director of Green-Jakobsen, Philippines and as such in charge of the day-to-day management of the Green-Jakobsen office in Manila. As a senior consultant he is developing, managing and organising training contents, learning methods and courses in relation to client projects. His maritime specialist knowledge and practical experience are vital competences in the actual implementation of the projects and learning initiatives carried out in cooperation with the clients. Thomas Schmidt, Partner and Senior Consultant
Thomas has been a partner and consultant in Green-Jakobsen since 2006. He has an educational background as engineer, combined with a degree in economics (HD) from Copenhagen business school (CBS) and a management diploma in strategy development from Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI)
Thomas has experience from various managerial and executive positions in which he has been driving organisational development and performance improvements. The last 10 years Thomas has worked within the maritime and offshore industry with focus on development of key HR functions such as performance measurement and optimisation, competence management, leadership and change management. Furthermore he has been involved in assessment of corporate culture and development of same with the aim to enhance the company safety performances.Thomas’ strengths lie within analysis, design, development and management of strategic programmes for safety and employee performance optimisation. Stine Skelbo, Senior Consultant
Stine’s employment with Green-Jakobsen commenced in 2005 and she is a key person in the learning and development activities. Stine is a Master of Communication, Nordic philology & theatre science from Copenhagen University. She also holds a course diploma in Business Psychology, Systemic Process Consultancy and Narrative Consultancy and Organisational Development.
Stine is specialised in organisational learning and development, together with strategic leadership and organisational change as well as corporate communication. Stine is mainly responsible for the development of learning concepts and organisational development programmes within the maritime and offshore business. She is dealing with projects within the fields of development of safety cultures, general HR & HSE development, organisational change, leadership concepts, and strategic communication in connection with implementation of new safety or organisational initiatives. Ida Krogh, Consultant
Ida holds a Master of Excellence of Applied Cultural Analysis and a BA in Ethnology from the University of Copenhagen. Ida has solid experience in market analysis and consumer insights. Ida is specialised in the qualitative and quantitative methodology and in turning analytical insights in human behaviour into areas of development and applicable recommendations that can drive businesses forward.
As part of the Green-Jakobsen team Ida participates in the development of methods to measure and assess safety culture and safety performance, as well as analysing working environments, safety processes and safety maturity to find pain points and development potential. Lisbeth Englund Nissen, Consultant
Lisbeth has joined the Green-Jakobsen team in 2016 and is part of the group of consultants. Lisbeth’s focus is on internal organisational processes and communication, learning and optimisation procedures that make sense for employees as well as business in general. She will take part in safety assessments and drive development and implementation of bespoke safety enhancement programmes as well as mapping and analysing organisational safety culture and performance.
She is an experienced project manager and holds an MA in Communication, Danish and Musicology from Copenhagen University. On top of that, she is a licensed PRINCE2 project manager and holds several training courses in strategic communication and coaching. Most recently she is doing a post grad master’s degree in learning processes and strategic communications. Prior to joining Green-Jakobsen, Lisbeth has worked in the maritime industry as a communications consultant and in the oil industry as frontrunner of corporate internal communications. Helle Mikkelsen, Maritime Consultant
Helle Mikkelsen has been an associate with Green-Jakobsen for a number of years and is now a permanent member of the group of consultants and instructors based in Copenhagen. She facilitates Training in Europe and South America and participates in client projects in relation to safety leadership and performance.
Helle has been in the shipping industry for more than 40 years, she is an experienced captain, mainly from cargo ships, including project cargo, container and HSC vessels. She has more than 30 years of experience in leading others and developing and applying effectful leadership skills and optimising interaction with people.
Helle has also worked as a consultant on education, certification in STCW related matters and as a ship surveyor at the Danish Maritime Authority. Besides being a Captain Helle is also a certified Life and Businesses Mentor. (email@example.com)
Janne Haugland, Communications and HR Manager
Janne has been part of Green-Jakobsen from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2014. She holds a BA in 3 languages from Copenhagen Business School and has more than 30 years of experience in business administration, HR and linguistic and communication tasks.
Janne is the editor of the Green-Jakobsen Academy, which is a platform for Green-Jakobsen knowledge and methodology made available for clients and partners, as well as of other publications profiling Green-Jakobsen. She manages sales and marketing initiatives, the website, and coordinates events and workshops, etc. She participates in the quality assessment of client products as a proofreader and takes part in client product or concept development from time to time. Vicky Steen, Administrative Manager
Vicky has a diploma from Education Centre CPH West as an Office Assistant, specialising in Business Administration, Economy and quality development of the administrative function. Vicky has 16 years of experience in administration and finance which she has gained from various companies in International environments in Australia and Sweden before joining Green-Jakobsen in 2015.
Vicky’s core competencies cover Accounting and Finance, and she is responsible for financial and management reporting. Vicky is in charge of all financial transactions along with all daily office matters in our Copenhagen office. (email@example.com)
Allan Raymund Olano, General Manager and Consultant
When Green-Jakobsen established its Philippine office, Allan was the first office manager. Apart from managing the day to day operation of the Philippine office, he was also involved in training and course development. He has vast experience in leadership/soft skill courses and safety & health training.
In 2009 he decided to go back at sea. He also worked as a Training Superintendent to another company until he passed his Australian (AMSA) license and worked there for almost five years. Allan is a licensed Master Mariner.
He spent his sea life working mostly on dry cargo vessels like containers ships, RoRo, bulk carriers from Cape size vessels to self-unloading ships and an Ore-Oil carrier. In July 2018, Allan rejoined Green-Jakobsen Philippines as General Manager. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Rodel Babista Abuy, Assistant Gen.Manager, Learning & Development Consultant
Rodel has a master’s degree in Maritime Education (with honours) from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Graduate School in 2008, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 2001. Prior to his employment at Green-Jakobsen in 2008, he worked as Systems Developer/IT Officer, Maintenance Engineer of maritime simulator systems, Training Instructor of computer applications and fleet management systems, and Instructional Development and Technology Officer.
At Green-Jakobsen, Rodel is involved in the conceptualisation and development of various e-learning projects, classroom-based courses, train-the-trainer concepts, maritime leadership programmes, safety culture maturity assessments, application training solutions, quality systems, and surveys, among others. His key competencies including learning design and development, assessment and evaluation, project management, process and data analysis, quality management, instruction, learning technologies, and system administration are all in play in his multiple tasks in GJ. Rodel is also an experienced system administrator, having been involved in the administration of various learning management, training support, competence management and survey systems.
Junal Gatungay Jr., Learning & Development Consultant
Junal is a licensed Marine Deck Officer and also a licensed professional of the Japanese Maritime Licensure Exam. Prior to working with Green-Jakobsen, he worked as instructor in various shipping companies and as Training and Career Development Officer. Junal is accredited by the Danish Maritime Authority as Safety and Health Instructor.
Junal is responsible for the development and facilitation of safety, leadership, softskills, and other customised courses for clients. He also contributes in the conceptualisation and development of consultancy projects.
Bruce M. Arellano, Maritime Training Facilitator
Bruce is a Maritime Training Instructor for Green-Jakobsen. He is a Master Mariner and has worked on board various types of tanker ships trading worldwide such as LPG, VLCC and Oil/Chem. Prior to his joining Green-Jakobsen, he was a facilitator in a Maritime training center handling STCW and simulator courses. Bruce is accredited by the Danish Maritime Authority as S16 and DML instructor. At Green-Jakobsen, he is assigned for the development and facilitation of safety, leadership and other client-specific courses.
Candida Taruc Bacallo, Accounting and Human Resource Manager
Candy has a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an accreditation from the Philippine Board of Accountancy and Bureau of Internal Revenue for public practice. Candy has a vast experience in accounting and finance which she has gained from various employments before joining Green-Jakobsen in 2009.
Candy’s core competencies cover Human Resource Recruitment and Management, Accounting and Finance, and she is responsible for the financial and management reporting. Candy is in charge of all financial transactions in our Manila office and she deals with the external auditor, tax bureau, legal, and Securities and Exchange Commission and ensures that the company meets all tax and reportorial requirements set by government agencies. As the Human Resource Manager, she is responsible in recruitment, initial interview and pre-screening of applicants for proper endorsement to respective Department Managers.She administers compensation, benefits, performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
Elyn Albunian Cosio, Senior Training Support and Systems Administrator
Elyn is a Computer Science graduate from Systems Technology Institute. Before joining Green-Jakobsen in 2006, she worked with various companies as Data Analyst, Quality Assurance Personnel, Customer Service Relations and Sales Account Officer.
Elyn’s core competencies cover quality management, customer relations, competence management and system administration. Elyn is Key Account Manager for Safety Delta clients. She is also responsible for the administration of the Safety Delta platform. She supports the Sales and Marketing Team in the implementation of its strategies. She ensures all essential documents are organised, updated and implemented based on the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). She coordinates with the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA), clients and instructors to ensure that courses are conducted, documented, and reported according to the standards. As a Portal Administrator she is responsible for managing the competence and training platforms.
Maria Salvi Nuevo, Junior Training Support and Systems Administrator
Salvi is a BS Tourism Management graduate from University of Makati. Before her employement with Green-Jakobsen she worked in one of the maritime training centers in the Philippines and held a position as Training Assistant, Competency Assistant and General Secretary.
At Green-Jakobsen she is assisting the Quality and Marketing Coordinator in the preparation of course materials for the courses for GJ clients. She assures that all documents for the trainings are ready and that coordination takes place with the Hotel/training venues. She is also preparing for the purchases of company’s supplies and other requisitions.
Diane Maris L. Cruz, Learning and Development Specialist
Diane is an alumna of University of Makati. She has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with honours and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Innovative English Education. Also, she is a licensed teacher. Foregoing to her employment at Green-Jakobsen, she has been an ESL (English as Second Language) teacher to foreign students. She has been a research and development manager in her prior company. She has handled classes on the following areas and/or subject matters: developing skills on writing, reading, listening, and speaking; TOEFL, TOEIC, and SAT.
At Green-Jakobsen, she collaborates with the Project Manager in developing concepts and designs for the e-learning materials/learning ‘snippets’, proofreading scripts and narration, and facilitating the process of converting the scripts into visual storyboards.
Kimberly Alpapara, Admin/Training Assistant
Kim is a BS Food Service and Institutional Management Graduate from Universidad de Sta Isabel. Before joining Green-Jakobsen, she worked as an Area Supervisor in a manpower pooling company for various establishments such as corporate offices, restaurants, and hotels. She has been an Assistant Manager in a retail company as well.
At Green-Jakobsen, her roles are: Safety Delta administration (attending to client concerns, surveys, SDLL updates, sending of CSD reports); Assistant Project Coordinator (e.g. preparing course materials); and HR Assistant.
Felisa Panaguiton, Admin and Training Associate
Iza has a BS in Marketing Management from Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 2016. Before joining Green-Jakobsen, she has worked as an Account Executive in an advertising company. She also has experience in marketing and auditing.
At Green-Jakobsen, she takes part in preparing and safekeeping the training materials; assisting the Training Instructors before, during, and after courses; and coordinating with clients. She also functions as an HR Assistant.
Manila Multimedia Team
Mark Alvin Santos, Team leader
Mark is a Multimedia artist with expertise in Flash animation and 2D video game assets. He is a certified scrum master and has a background in Maya 3D.
At Green Jakobsen, he leads the multimedia team and has the overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and evaluation of various tasks in relation to e-learning projects. He is also involved in creative processes such as conceptualisation and storyboarding.
Leslie Ann P. Lay, Animator, Assistant Team leader
Leslie is a BS Digital Illustration and Animation graduate from Ateneo de Naga University in 2012. Her core skills are Graphic Designs, Video Editing, Motion Graphics and 3D Animation. Before her employment with Green-Jakobsen she worked as 3D Animator in various Multimedia companies in the Philippines.
In Green-Jakobsen she develops snippet animations, motion graphics and sound editing, and provide input for workflows and creative ideas.
Ruppertson M. Castor, Animator
Ruppertson is an Information Technology graduate from Institute of Creative Computer Technology. Before he became part of Green-Jakobsen, he has years of experience in the Television Network as Editor and Motion Graphic Animator. He works also as a freelance to various production companies.
In Green-Jakobsen, he develops educational snippet animations, motion graphics and sound effects. He elaborates any graphic materials if needed and provide input for workflows and creative ideas.
Ronnel Laguardia, Multimedia Artist
Ronnel is a Digital Arts graduate from University of Makati. He has a passion for filmmaking, photography, and videography. He works as a freelance graphic content and instructional designer for different e-learning production companies. He has a clear knowledge and expertise in user interface design, character design, motion graphics, visual/graphic design, photo manipulation, and storyboarding.
At Green-Jakobsen, he conceptualises and develops graphic assets for various e-learning projects. He is involved in the development of concepts and designs for e-learning materials. He also does video editing.
Karlo Zabala, Multimedia Artist
Karlo holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (major in Advertising) from Far Eastern University. Prior to his employment at Green-Jakobsen, he worked as a motion and graphic designer in various multimedia companies. His core competencies include 3D modelling and animation. He is also knowledgeable about video and audio editing.
At Green-Jakobsen, he develops motion graphics, snippet animations and 3D graphics; composes sound effects; edits videos and audio materials; and takes part in the conceptualisation and development of creative ideas, which are essential to e-learning projects.
Siddharth S. Kumar, Regional Representative, Senior Consultant
Siddharth joined Green-Jakobsen in 2014. He is representing our company in Asia, primarily India, Singapore and China. He is Key account Manager for Safety Delta clients and Global Training Manger for Green-Jakobsen’s client courses.
He has an MBA in Shipping Management from the Indian Management School and Research Centre, and a Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science from the University of Mumbai. He is a licensed Master Mariner and has sailed as a Master on board Oil/Chemical Tankers, having been at sea for over 12 years. Siddharth also holds a Diploma in Shipping Economics and Operations and a Diploma in Dry Cargo Chartering from the Cambridge Academy of Transport. Sid is accredited by the Danish Maritime Authority as Safety and Health Instructor. Dr. Maria Progoulaki, Regional Representative, Senior Consultant
Maria is a Maritime Economist with a PhD in Maritime Human Resource and Cultural Diversity Management. She also holds Msc and Bsc in Shipping, Trade and International Transport from University of the Aegean, Greece. Maria is a lecturer of maritime executives and professionals, under- and post-graduate students in Greece and Germany. Maria is a senior researcher in projects related to maritime HR management, and cross-cultural education and training. She has also working experience within the shipping industry as a Safety & Quality Manager, having conducted an onboard survey in Greece concerning a multicultural crew, and a field survey on HRM practices among circa 100 Greek owned shipping companies.
Maria joined the Green-Jakobsen in 2017, representing the company in Greece, Cyprus and Italy. Maria is part of the consulting team, involved in the development of HR processes with a focus on integrated maritime HR systems. Also, she is responsible for the development of marine HR programmes, development of learning content, instruction of courses and organising of academic research on safety and leadership.
